Overview

With an extended period of growth in their international business, the end user identified the solution
to their infrastructure challenges; by implementing a hyperscale architecture they could effectively and
efficiently expand their infrastructure demands with the pace of their business growth.

Challenges

Having found the right bespoke OEM hardware solution, the question remained how they would install and maintain those systems. The OEM did not have the global service footprint to effectively delivery support, to fully deliver on the project they would need to find an expert in data centre services with a global reach.

Solutions

Having worked with Xuper on previous IMACD and TPM projects across multiple geographies, the client was confident in moving forward with Xuper as their onsite technical hands and feet. As the hardware solution was bespoke and created specifically for the end user it was vital that each regional technician was trained and certified with examinations, covering installation best practices and post installation maintenance for each model type before they could become part of the approved onsite smart hands team.

Benefits

The main driver for the project was to allow the end user to scale up with minimal delay but with international customs & clearance on occasions being an uncertainty, for the project to succeed as planned Xuper needed to ensure they could supply enough technicians to install potentially hundreds of servers in a single day on extremely short notice. Post installation Xuper put in place a temporary 4-hour SLA for the first two weeks to ensure that any issues that may have occurred during manufacture or installation were promptly corrected, minimising any setup delay to the end user.
Once the systems were confirmed as stable, Xuper altered the SLA to NBD, with the failover built into the system the only business impact on the end user was a reduction in OPEX. To date Xuper have installed and maintain over 3,000 servers across 12 countries with over 100 approved & certified technicians all of which increasing each day.
